Now may be a great time to sell that property—you know the one we mean. Maybe it’s the home you live in and you’ve been thinking of upsizing, or the second house you’ve held onto for a while that needs work, a property you inherited, a rental property you want to get rid of; whatever your situation, that’s the property we’re talking about today.

If you look at all the resale homes that are actively listed in the Greater Phoenix real estate market, we have fewer than 4,000 available. 9,000 to 10,000+ houses have been selling each of the last few months, which means we have fewer than two weeks’ worth of inventory. To put our inventory shortage into perspective, Scottsdale alone had over 4,000 properties on the market in May 2009. 

The homes that never would have sold before are selling now. Land that commonly takes months to sell is leaving the market in just days. Now is the time to sell difficult properties, without question. The only reasons homes don’t sell in a market where demand is this high are that it’s not priced right, or it’s not accessible. 

Demand is so high and inventory is so low that this is truly a remarkable time in our Phoenix market.
